We are pleased to announce Magnetism 2014, a new annual conference on magnetism, magnetic materials and spintronics. This brings a particular focus to research in the UK and Republic of Ireland but attendees from elsewhere are also welcome.
Magnetism 2014 will include three main themes of thin films & nanostructures, correlated electrons and soft matter magnetism. However, the umbrella nature of the conference means we welcome all aspects of magnetic and spintronic related research. In future years the conference will adapt to reflect contemporary trends in magnetism.
Magnetism 2014 will be suitable for all those involved in magnetism research, from students, researchers and senior staff in academia and industry. The conference format will include invited and contributed talks as well as poster sessions. Magnetism 2014 will also host the prestigious Wohlfarth lecture, which will be open to the public with an associated reception for conference attendees.
Magnetism 2014 will be held on 7th & 8th April 2014 in the Renold Building, The University of Manchester. Conference and accommodation fees will be announced shortly but this will be an affordable conference to encourage wide participation. We will also be announcing a Call for Abstracts in the near future.
This conference is organised jointly by the Institute of Physics Magnetism Group and the IEEE Magnetics Society. Our intention is that Magnetism 20XX becomes an annual forum to support and invigorate the broad magnetism research community in the UK and RoI.

Abstract submission is welcomed in any one of three categories (Correlated Electron Phenomena, Magnetic materials: thin films, nano-scale structures and spintronics, Soft matter and bio-magnetism) and is via the website. The deadline for abstract submission is 31st January 2014.
